The CO2 Insufflator of ulrich medical® is dedicated for examinations of the colon via CT scan.

In order to perform a virtual coloscopy, the colon has to be distended during CT exposures. Contrary to common methods the insufflator of ulrich medical automatically triggers and monitors the pressure for distention of the colon.

Regulating pressure and retaining control, instead of room air the device delivers the gas CO2 through the connected intestinal tube right into the colon. Exhaustation lost or resorbed CO2 is automatically recouped, so the pressure inside the colon can be kept constant.

Due to the integrated protection against over pressure and the guarantee of a fast resorption of CO2, patient’s comfort is significantly increased.
